What are the requirements for VR&E
For context I am a federal employee and I have applied to the program twice. I do not have a degree and I have one Certificate for Security+. I first applied back in early 2025 1 was doing warehouse work and it aggravated my SCD so I applied to try and transition to a less physically demanding job. I created a word document outlining my reason for applying, how I have applied to other jobs using indeed, and other job hunting sites and not being able to secure a job. The situations at work started to go down hill when alot of people got laid off or quit. It got to the point of me doing the work of 4 different fields within the department I work for. My disability have gotten worse since then. This was all in the document I prepared and sent to the VR&E counselor.
When I met with the counselor and I told them everything they denied me for the program and said I have a suitable and sustainable job and I am marketable.
I let a few months go by. And the situation hasn't improved its actually gotten worse with many altercation between what I do at the warehouse and what they need delivered or restocked. Its me and one other person doing the job of 5 warehouse workers. Now because of the pain I am consistently taking off work to recover. Around March I put in another application adding the new information and providing a list of 50 job applications I applied to and no replies back. I bring this all to a different counselor and I was denied again saying that nothing changed and I am still suitable. Im at a loss at this point. Any information on to the requirements for VR&E will be appreciated thanks.
