I currently have a day job, which has all health benefits, 401(k), all the lovely stuff. Very light stress & very minimal work. I also have my side business for the last three years that produces 2 to 3 times more income than my main job. Wife keeps asking me why I don’t quit my day job and just focus on the side business, but I feel that since my main job is giving me the comfort of paying and covering all of my monthly bills it allows me the comfort & space as well to run it freely. I’m also scared that if I leave my day job, what if this business down the line doesn’t work out and no-one wants to hire an old man. So my question is, am I doing the right thing by keeping both or should I focus strictly on the business.
To give a little bit more of an update on my side business 90% of it is ran and done on the phone and or the laptop, which I do from my current day job.
