I recently got a ROG Ally x, the black version (Xbox version) and I’m currently looking to upgrade my setup with a couple of essential accessories. I’d really appreciate some advice from people with experience.
Right now I’m mainly searching for:
- A reliable charger (preferably 65W+ USB-C, or higher if it’s worth it for performance modes)
- A travel carrying case that offers good protection and portability
I’ve been checking some options like the official ASUS charger and dock, as well as third-party alternatives, but I’m not sure what’s actually worth it in real use.

From what I understand, the Ally typically needs at least 65W for proper performance, especially if you want to play while charging or use turbo modes (). I’ve also seen that ASUS offers official chargers and docks designed specifically for it, which should guarantee compatibility and safety ().
My questions:
- Is it better to stick with official ASUS accessories, or are good third-party options just as reliable?
- For charging, is it worth going above 65W (like 100W+), especially if using a dock?
- Any recommendations for a durable travel case that fits well and protects the device properly?
