One of my biggest regrets in life is never having met or seen Michael Jackson live. I'm 46 years old and am a lifelong moonwalker. I'm from a small island in the Caribbean, and the Michaelmania was wild here in the 80's. Even when the weirdness started, and his popularity died down, at least on this side of the globe, I remained steadfast. I defended him countless times in secondary school, through all the changing looks, the accusations... everything. I bought all his albums on CD, except Dangerous. I had that on cassette tape. I bought HIStory: Videos Greatest Hits I and II. I then bought Thriller 25. I saw Thriller live when I was living in the UK in 2016 and even bought a Michael Jackson calendar (what is it with Brits and calendars? 😅😅😅). I have a stack of magazines and books, including Moonwalk, and patterned my creative drive after his strive for perfection. That said, my one regret was never seeing him live.

The main reason is that it was logistically difficult. Again, I live on a small Caribbean island, and he never visited here...at least not officially. There was a rumor in the early 2000's that he was on the island for a vacation, but it was never confirmed.

Then, when I became old enough to travel solo, he performed in far-flung places. I actually wanted to purchase This Is It tickets, but they were all sold out, and of course, we know what happened on June 25th, 2009.

Anyone who saw him perform live or even saw him briefly as he exited a hotel, how was the experience? Let me live vicariously through you. 😅
