Best leveling and options for a “controller” fighter warlock

So I’m making a character who’s backstory heavily relies on having a patron who is in contracts with my entire family. So the warlock side is mandatory but I’m having trouble getting to what my build should look like.

In terms of subclass my dm is letting me use the Sorcerer king patron, and I’m really excited about how it works with my backstory so that also is a heavy preference that I use that.

here’s the subclass

Tldr on sorcerer king is I get command as a bonus action a number of times based on cha and whenever I use a pact slot I emanate a debuff for the enemy and an advantage buff for my party. Spells are mostly control based like command, compelled duel, fear, etc.

I imagine my character being a semi-tanky supporting character on the front/midline who can war-lock people down (ha). It would be cool if I get to battle master and I can get some support maneuvers there too and kinda take on a “commander” type vibe.

Question is, is warrior the best dip? Should I instead go paladin to get some healing? Or cleric? I’ve also heard bard could be good as well. Is bladelock a good option here? Also any suggestions on spells or invocations to take would be appreciated as well!
