Picked up Effete and Impudent Snobs by Cows at a local record store and I’ve been really digging it.

I got this idea while trying to get AT on Canada

I grew up as a loser with no friends so I was raised on the internet. This place has more or less been my “home” since I was a teenager, and I’m sure many of you can relate. Because of that, I have had a lot of positive feelings towards the internet and I feel like have kept me here much longer than I should.

I have been feeling so disillusioned with how things are going, with the rise of AI, the surge of short-form brain-rot content, and mass surveillance the internet increasingly feels hostile to me and my mind. I have decided that the best way to avoid all this is to log off completely, but I truly don’t know how.

I’ve tried quitting so many times before but it’s like an addiction, I keep looking at my phone or spending too much time on my computer. Most “phone lockdown” apps don’t work for me because it’s too easy to get around them and then I’m just back to square one

I still don’t have many friends now that I’m an (almost 30) adult, I’m married but that’s all I have really outside of family. I feel like I’m using the internet to cope with my loneliness but I don’t know how to make friends. I have hobbies but I feel like I don’t spend the time I want to doing them because I’m too busy scrolling. I hate this shit so much I just want out.
