I am a remote worker (software). I am currently providing for my wife who is studying in the US internationally, so that's why I'm here for the time being. Every day I work from around 8am-1pm, although my time is flexible, but then I'm free.

I really want to use the opportunity that I'm already here in the US to experience farm life with our two dogs, but I can't commit to a rigid farm-work or hourly schedule. I would rather pay some sort of "rent", even if it means I have to sleep on hay in a shed, I really don't mind. I do want to help out as much as I can, and I do have tons of free time, as long as it's not fixed in some schedule, considering I would pay for food & lodging.

I didn't understand if WWOOF is the right place to look for something like that, as everything appears to be based on no payment from the guest and only work?
