Imagine you want to create your own "instrument" or preset from scratch, out of your own raw recorded samples. You import the wav files, and assign 1 per key. Now you need to tweak each sample independently to get them all sounding good. (Some might be off key, some might need trimming, warping, filtering, etc.) By default, most samplers I tried just apply envelopes and filters to the whole keyboard. I think I need zones or groups, 1 per key. Which sampler makes this workflow easiest?
Logic pro Sampler: It seems to have the ability to do this, by creating groups?, but I didn't get it to work yet. It seems cumbersome.
Kontakt 7: I'm pretty sure it can do this, right? I have to define a zone per key or something? The UI looks like 1998 but I'll use it if it's the only option.
Kontakt 8: Seems to have something called Leap that handles 1 sample per key more naturally, but it is geared toward drums only, so I can't find all the params I'd normally have in Kontakt, to fully fine tune each sample.
Has anyone else done this, made your own instruments out of your own samples? What do you recommend? Thanks!
