Hi All,
I have a 2017 A1706 (EMC 3163) MacBook Pro which did have the backlight cable issue which I have had repaired however it has got horizontal black lines all over the entire screen (was there prior to the backlight/stagelight issue) and I’m wanting to confirm if the LVDS cable can be replaced on this model as I’ve read many forums including ifixit that state that it’s soldered onto the display, but then there are many other forums that talk about the LVDS cable can being replaced, including tekdep’s site (https://tekdep.com/macbook-pro-13-inch-lcd-display-cable-replacement-tutorial)
I note they sell this cable (https://tekdep.com/product/a1706-lcd-display-lvds-edp-video-flex-cable-new-for-2016-2017-macbook-pro-13-2), and want to know if this may resolve my black lines, as I’ve reset the NVRAM and SMC, run apple diagnostics, booted into safe mode, but the lines are there on the Apple symbol when booting up, unless anyone has any other fault finding diagnostics I can try.
