Hello all,
I own a house with a large attached sun room with wood walls and large windows. We are converting it into an unofficial ADU for a family member, so we're adding a kitchenette. The kitchenette will likely be built from customized IKEA systems, nothing too fancy, no plans to add water (There is a sink elsewhere in the unit) or heat (They'll rely on a plugged in induction stovetop and probably a microwave).
That said, I'm slightly concerned about the induction cooking steam + oil so close to the wood wall. We are new homeowners without any major projects under our belts, any dos or don'ts we should be aware of before we set this kitchenette up? Is there a protective coating we should put on the wood boards? Is ventilation important with a such small scale cooking area?
Here are a couple photos of the wall that the kitchenette will be up against: https://imgur.com/a/QdrKbOM
Any advice is appreciated, thanks!
