I bought a 1Zpresso K-Max in 2022 for 257€.

I have been using it for approximately 4 years of light home use:

  • ~1 espresso grind per day on average
  • occasionally 2 uses per day, but very rarely
  • stored indoors in Slovakia (normal conditions – no extreme humidity, heat, sun exposure, or pets)

Recently I noticed that the grip is not just worn, but has developed actual holes where the material has completely broken down and started to disintegrate.

This is not surface wear, scratching, or cosmetic damage – the material itself has failed in multiple spots.

I contacted 1Zpresso support and their final response was that this is “standard wear and tear” and outside warranty coverage.

I’m trying to understand if this level of material degradation is expected after ~4 years of light use on this model, or if this points to a material quality issue.
