PEX Line Break Diagnosis
Found a water leak in our master bath. Tore away the wall and found it was a pex line connecting the two sinks. After cutting away the old pex line, a pin-hole was discovered as the source. The hole was perfectly centered in the pass thru of the stud. No construction has been done in the area— line hasn’t been touched since house was built in ‘03. The stud pass thru was inspected and no obvious nail, screw, wood, sharp object, etc was discovered. What’s y’all’s guess on the cause of the hole? Wear and tear? Expansion/contraction against sharp object over 23 years?
