Hi!

I plan on fully migrating my pc's and homeserver to void-linux (started with Arch, now NixOS). I started my linux journey approximately 1.5 years ago and learned a lot during that time. My switch to void on desktop was successful, now I want to go a step further and have some questions about it.

Using void-linux for a home-server

How was/is your experience on running void-linux on a home-server? I solely use podman for everything I need (nextcloud, dynamic dns entries, gameservers, etc.). Are there some problems I should be aware of when not using systemd?

Contributing to void-packages

One thing I really wanted to do for some time now is contributing to the package-repository of a distro I like. Since I figured void is the distro I want to stay on, void-packages would be perfect for that! With that being said, are there official ressources on what exactly are the requirements when submitting pr's to void-packages and to learn more about xbps-templates?

Writing my own package for installation

I really like the idea of the archinstall package. I think the void-installer thats shipped with the iso is nice for basic configuration, but I'd like to go one step further with my own package including custom config files for reproducibility of specific systems, better tui and more features. Do you think this could be an overall improvement for the community or not necessary at all?

Ty for your answers in advance!
