I need to take my cat to the vet tomorrow and had to cancel today because I couldn't get her in the carrier. We tried and had to give up because she was getting so upset.

I've looked for advice on this and everyone says oh put her in through the top, put her in back end first... We can't pick her up without getting bitten or scratched. She just does NOT let us pick her up. We've tried scooping her in from her bed (she got away) and I don't like trapping her in a corner and anyway she just sits there and won't move. Does anyone have any advice that doesn't involve picking her up? Also she doesn't care about treats and is too smart and knows it's a trick. We have gabapentin and I couldn't get her to take it even mixed into churu. Please help.

Edit: thank you all for the advice! I bought a new soft carrier and am going to try that tomorrow. Her vet office also recommended using a cardboard carrier so I'll also try that. And I'm going to put her gabapentin in some canned tuna, per the advice on here. Wish me luck!
