
Blasphemous Ave Libre fangame in development
Last December, I was looking for tutorials on parry system in Godot and found this video: (https://youtu.be/uzX0eIShMPY) I liked how the author implemented the parry system using Blasphemous assets as an example, and I decided to make a full-fledged fangame using this demo and the MetSys plugin for Godot. In this fangame, I want to emphasize on elemental status effects.
The Penitent One can find and equip various elemental handles for Mea Culpa, and successfully parrying with each handle accumulates the corresponding elemental status effect on enemy. A person on Burn status takes continuous minor damage, a person on Frozen status has a chance to become immobile for a few seconds, etc.
Overall, so far, I'm getting a bit rough and junky version of Blasphemous games, but I'm having fun and enjoying implementing various familiar mechanics, enemies, and bosses while also adding a new stuff. I'm mainly using assets from the original Blasphemous games.
