Thoughts on experience with Kelsay Books or their imprint Alabaster Leaves?
Just what the title says. They have offered me a contract, no advance, 12% royalties. I get no free books unless I buy 25, and it looks like marketing is mostly on me (with suggestions they provide). From what I can tell online and in my research (which has not turned up much, really), they produce lovely books. I am just on the fence about buying my own book.
They are not a vanity press in that I don't pay for anything (except books).
Any feedback is helpful.
Edited to add: The books are offered to authors at a reduced price. I am also making sure they are a reputable publisher. Earlier in my writing, I submitted to some journals that weren't particularly respected, but I would rather not be published than continue that.
