Me and my friend are planning on hiking the Routeburn track this winter, we both have done some avalanche training and both have probes, shovels, and transceivers. Renting ice axes and either micro spikes or crampons is also a option but I just want to know if its a hard route to cross (mainly on the 2nd day over the saddle). Going to routeburn falls hut and going up to the summit at the saddle is also a option.
