Ethical malware development community

Hey.

Been learning programming, mainly C++, for the last couple years. My areas of interest are network protocols, network programming, red-team tools, malware development.

I'm just wondering if there are any online communities that are focused on ethical malware development (doesnt need to be specific to C++) or similar, maybe for collaboration or code review, etc. Discord, forums, whatever works.

Thanks much.

[C++] Cybersecurity / ethical malware / network protocol programming

Hey. Been programming seriously for about a year, but have dabbled for a few years. Self-taught. Background in tech, though working as an electrician at the moment due to layoffs a couple years ago.

I've got a solid understanding of the fundamentals of programming, OOP, memory, etc. Typically, most of my coding time is weekdays 3:30PM-6:30PM, weekends 6AM-10AM PST/PDT (west coast of US).

I've done a lot of following tutorials (mostly Udemy) and making them my own, adjusting code and trying new things with the base knowledge gained. I want to move beyond tutorial hell, though. Been working on a couple projects but could use some ideas, input and accountability from someone else to take my skills and interest to the next level.

I work a lot with sockets, from simple client/server stuff to network scanners, port scanners, backdoors, RATs, as well as credential stealers, keyloggers, etc. Currently working on a project that is a network based self-replicating worm that I feel I've hit a wall with, as far as knowledge.

Goals are to get into a junior penetration tester or network administrator role at some point, maybe something in embedded systems with an emphasis on network protocols. In regards to a pentester role, I could see myself enjoying a purple team role, encompassing both red and blue team responsibilities.

I'm not opposed to diving into other languages here and there but my heart is in C++, and that is the language I want to push toward mastery.

Not sure if this partnership would be in the form of working on programs together, code reviewing each other's own programs, architecture deisgn ideas, etc., or maybe all of it. Totally cool with disc[o]rd or email or steam chat. Whatever works.

Let me know if interested.

Thanks.

This may be outside of the usual "AI presenting direct dangers" kind of post but the corporations that are pushing all of this are setting the world up for a massive economic fall.

Just got done reading this article. Its insane how much money is being shoved at Anthropic and OpenAI. They aren't profitable, not even remotely, and yet the big hyperscalars (Micro$oft, Google, Amazon) are continuously injecting billions of dollars into these two companies.

I have a theory, and I don't think I'm the only one who believes this: I think it's possible that all this international / middle east "war" stuff is a front for the FAANG corporations, and puppet masters behind them, orchestrating one of the largest employment crises we've ever faced as a species. I think this inflation of AI, the forced directives to utilize AI in everything, resulting in massive job losses is related to the increased prices or EVERYTHING, and is a concerted effort to destroy our abilities to take care of ourselves and our families.

Once we are unable to work, AI-powerer UBI and AI-powered surveillance will be used to control everyone. It is a destruction of the free market, a destruction of our way of life in the West (and, ultimately, everywhere else).

Definitely recommend reading the article. Here's another from the same journalist that dives into the data centers being built but not used all over the country and the world: https://www.wheresyoured.at/the-ai-industry-is-lying-to-you/

Im a fledgling programmer, mostly learning C++ and network programming. The last post on r/NetworkProgramming was 4y ago.

Just curious if anyone has any leads on some discord servers, forums or subreddits they'd recommend to link up with some other network programmers.

Thanks so much.
