Hi guys :) The Brera has been a dream car of mine for years and now that I’m actually looking to buy a car in the coming months, I wanted to ask a few question regarding what to look out for, but also which engine I should get it with. My driving profile
Short trips (5-10 minutes) grocery runs regularly, maybe once a week, sometimes less
Two longer trips (up to 2000km, both directions) twice a year, to visit family
Spontaneous trips, the regular weekend stuff
So all around not all that many km a year, definitely under 10,000km. I also have a car for the summer only, so i don’t necessarily depend on it. That means of course the car would be stored outside all year long and be my “daily” or rather main car.
Now my considerations:
2.2 JTS is cheap to find, but it doesn’t seem very exciting to me. Maybe an economical choice though?
2.4 JTD this one is also easy to find for good money in my area, several nice looking examples. My only concerns is diesel sound and if the engine takes short trips regularly well?
1.8 TBi Obviously the dream, but most expensive in my area, would have to save up longer. Is it worth it compared to other engines?
3.2 JTS Obviously, an engine that fits the Brera well. Fuel economy is horrible, but I could forgive it. How’s reliability? Cost wise it’s close to the TBi in my area
So mainly it’s 2.4 vs. 1.8 & 3.2 for me. I’m in love with the Breras looks for years now hahaha and tips and recommendations appreciated :)
