Hello everyone,

The figures above give some detailed metagame information about the MTG Eternal Community's ongoing Timeless and Historic leagues, currently nearing the end of round 1. You can also check out the full list of players (and their decklists) here:

Historic decklists and player info

Timeless Metagame Summary

With the recent additions of [[Daze]] and [[Force of Will]] to the format, it's no surprise that blue decks have rocketed to the top of the metagame in terms of meta share, supported by Alchemy design mistake [[Hydroponics Architect]] in a constructed environment where decks can run 4 [[Strip Mine]]s and fetch lands. Looking to combat this we have plenty of Mardu energy gamers as well as White stompy, white-based death and taxes, and two [[Dark Depths]]-based decks. Outside of that, everything is a one-off list, with plenty of variety. However, combo is notably not well-represented, and there isn't a single brave soul running any variant of oops all spells.

Historic Metagame Summary

The meta shares even for well-represented lists are significantly broader than our timeless meta. The best represented lists are Mardu Goyfs, built off of the back of powerful Goyf creatures mostly designed for commander and eternal play, and blue red [[Arclight Phoenix]] decks, a classical Historic archetype seeing renewed interest and success with a variety of new tools including [[Manamorphose]]. All lists that have two copies are also fairly diverse, including Jeskai control, RW Belcher with [[Pyretic Ritual]], blue black ninjas, blue red storm, and two blue white [[High Noon]] decks. Outside of that we have a very wide variety of decks featuring newcomers in things like the single [[Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle]] combo deck and older archetypes like [[Kethis, the Hidden Hand]], and everything in-between.
