Ok, I'm gonna try this again because it got taken down last time, and unfortunately I'm still in my RFaT loop!
Hi friends! I am in the middle of some kind of obsessive episode where I cannot stop listening to {Red Flags and Tuesdays by Nordika Night} on audiobook. Zane Daniels does a phenomenal job with the narration, but I realize I'm also just super into how the entire book is simply the MCs working their way into a relationship - there's no larger plot. Literally the only part I dislike is the shit with Reid's family (which is the only plot outside of the relationship). There's a ton of emphasis on their conversations and philosophical debates and dates and just learning about each other. By the end of the book I felt so strongly like these guys really know each other and I don't doubt that they will love each other for all of time.
So, does anyone have reccs with a similar vibe? The most important part for me is the focus on two people getting to know each other and having lots of conversations, without the extra noise of excessive of side characters or plot. I already know Tal Bauer does this well so don't worry about recc'ing him - I've got those covered!
Other elements I loved in RFaT that would add to my enjoyment but aren't necessary:
- Black cat MC who is brutally honest
- Lots of banter
- The "doesn't do relationships" MC does the chasing
- Size difference
- Opposites attract
- Hurt/comfort or caretaking scenes
- A scene like the one where Reid was jealous but Atticus talks him through how he has nothing to worry about
I'm open to any genre but I do tend to avoid historical. Please no cheating between MCs or on page sex with others! Thank you so much for any suggestions!
P.S. Has anyone read Sober Dope and Sundays? Is the vibe similar?
