My wife and I are off on our first trip to Japan next week and I'm getting a little confused about how all of the trains work. Our itinerary is roughly
Tokyo
Hakone
Nakatsugawa/Magome
Kanazawa
Kyoto
Osaka
Do i need to book in advance for luggage for shinkansen (am quite stressed anout the etiquette point around suitcases!) and I have booked the romancecar to Hakone which seems quite straightforward
For non shinkansen or journeys where its part shinkansen part other lines (I.e odawara to nagoya then nagoya to nakatsugawa or nagiso to nagano and then nagano how can I buy tickets in advance? Have we picked a difficult route going form hakone to nakatsugawa then magome to kanazawa?
Any advice/reccos very welcome as the travel aspect is slightly overwhelming!
