‘97 ford ranger 4 cylinder. 80,000 miles. Initially my check engine light came on and my temp gauge stopped working (stayed at cold). My first thought was to make sure it had enough antifreeze. That’s when I found this. Contacted a local shop about a flush, and they said due to the age they would not do it. What are the risks to flushing? The radiator itself is aluminum and plastic. Some of the connecting pipes are steel. Located in the Midwest. I added fluid and plugged in an old broken computer tester that reset the check engine light. Temp gauge is working again, but what should I do next?
