Kitty Cat Tower: Why is the cat so OP?
Percy is pulled from his life on Earth by the magic of the mad [Wizard] Aragrundu into the body of a cat, the [Wizard]’s [Familiar]. Forced to put up with the demands of a senile old archmage Percy learns magic at new [Master]’s side.
Years later Aragrundu decides to take his magic further and try his hand at taming the untamable: a [Dungeon Core]. The core has no choice, but to surrender to Aragrundu’s magic when the [System] tells him to submit or die.
With a magical [Familiar] and a [Tamed] [Dungeon Core] Aragrundu’s delusions of grandeur results in his turning his forbidden and unethical magics on both. In yet another ritual Aragrundu binds Percy to the core, now called Corey, as the new [Core Guardian].
Much to the chagrin of both Percy and Corey, old age catches up to Aragrundu shortly thereafter. The duo finds themselves trapped. The [Dungeon Core] is in maintenance mode, Percy’s level is reset and he can’t leave the dungeon’s [Domain], and the [Wizard]’s wards prevents anyone or anything from finding them.
Centuries later a chance encounter allows Percy and Corey to free themselves at the expense of an unsuspecting farm boy named Bobbert.
What to expect:
Multi-POV: Sadly this is somewhat unavoidable, but the story will focus on Percy’s perspective, as the MC, with clearly labeled shifts to Bobbert and Corey’s perspective when necessary. Other perspectives outside of the main trio’s will be posted as Interludes.
OP MC: Percy practiced magic for decades before his level was reset and then spent centuries studying what Archmage Aragrudu left behind in his library.
Non-human MC: Percy is a cat. He will stay a cat, mostly.
Monstrous Evolution: Percy is technically a monster and will get to choose from various evolution options as he levels.
Non-Cruncy LITRPG: There is a [System] that plays a role in the story, but is not the main show. Expect to be spoon fed small bits as part of the story.
Group Dynamics: Again this is somewhat unavoidable, but the interactions between the central trio will be an important part of the story with Bobbert and Corey being mostly subordinate to the MC Percy.
