I just want a coffee maker that makes coffee and a washer that washes clothes. It feels like we’re paying more for features nobody asked for while the actual quality gets worse. I’ve had more problems with newer “smart” stuff than older basic versions. At this point I actively look for the simplest version of something instead of the most advanced. Anyone else feel like things are getting more complicated but not better?

There's a myth that frozen food tastes worse than fresh. In my experience, if you vacuum seal or use double-bagging to prevent freezer burn, there is zero difference in a cooked dish.
I buy in bulk (potatoes, veggies, meats, fruit) and it has cut my food costs by 30-40%. The key is flash-freezing individual pieces on a baking sheet before bagging them so they don't turn into one giant ice brick. Almost every meal i make contains frozen food.
What are your best tips for preserving food for longer?
