I want to get my first motorcycle and after doing lots of research, I think I want a scrambler. Most of what I've seen either recommends the Triumph 400x or the Honda SCL500. I know this exact question has been asked on here before, but I want a fresh set of opinions. I'm sure I'll figure out what kind of riding I really like once I start, but for now, here are my priorities/goals:
- Riding rural/mountain backroads
- Riding dirt/gravel fire roads and adventuring
- Cross-country adventure touring/exploring
- Potentially highway commuting to/from work
I love the look of the Triumph but I also would really prefer that twin engine of the Honda. I know neither of these bikes are touring bikes but I'm not picky about that sort of thing. Hell if you think I should get something completely different I'd love those opinions as well! And just to reassure you, I'll test ride anything before I ultimately make my decision, but what do y'all think?
