I’ve had my 2013 VW Polo since 2022. Bought from a family friend with 85K km on the clock. At the time I felt like I probably overpaid as it cost me €9.5K but he gave me back €500 as good luck money.
I Was involved in an RTA on Thursday. Long story short, my car driven into the drivers side from a junction while I was driving down the main road. Both cars have been written off. The other party has admitted full liability. No injuries from either parties.
Waiting on the assessor to come view and get things sorted on Tuesday due to Bank Holiday.
I’d worked my ass off to save up to buy a car for a long time working minimum wage job from 2019-2021 taking as many shifts as I could to put the money away.
There was never any damage to the car and always serviced and NCT Every year.
On top of this crap, I am due to sit my driving test on May 22nd.
So now I’m feeling kinda lost and wondering should I save up more and get a newer car, or just get a cheap car for the time being? Trying to save for a deposit for a house with my partner and now I feel like this is throwing a huge spanner in the works 😞
