Waiting on Season Ticket Decisions

I admit that I've been waiting on my season ticket decision until I know which 6 games we're getting, which we'll know on Thursday. If I'm going to spend over $4k for two seats for 6 games I want to know what I'm buying.

What we know so far is that we aren't getting the home game against the Texans here in Jacksonville, which really sucks ass. They're playing in London on 10/18.

There is another Jags home game in London on 10/11. If we lose the Patriots game too I'm going to be pissed, maybe enough that I have to rethink this season. What a slap in the face to local fans that would be.

EDIT: So now we know that the 10/11 game is the Eagles. Better than the Pats, but it still sucks to lose a second good matchup.

Going with this D as currently constituted simply cannot be the final plan. Or is it?

I mean it was bad enough when we traded our best man cover corner to the Browns after the Chiefs game purely as a salary dump. I sorta got it at the time - he didn't seem to be playing up to his paycheck. The Jags only overpay dramatically underperforming DEs, LTs and QBs. They draw the line at overpaying a CB.

But when we lost Lloyd that was a real blow. More than many realize. Lloyd was such a beast that Camp could leave him on an island against good receivers and go heavy on a 2 high safety scheme. This covered up a lot of weaknesses in our backfield. It also gave the pass rushers more time to get to the QB, which that bunch badly needed given how bad they are as pass rushing unit.

If we don't do something before the season begins, our D could be in trouble. We need either a legit pass coverage LB or a truly disruptive pass rusher. Our current LBs lack the size, speed and athleticism to do what Lloyd did.

Sadly ESPN seems to think it's the final plan, which is why they just dropped us 6 spots in their 2026 power rankings. The Vegas odds guys do too based upon how bad the money line has become for the under bet on season wins.

I just can't imagine that this is the final plan. I sincerely hope not. If so, I feel awful for Camponile, who they will no doubt blame for it.

Is Arik Armstead the next domino to fall?

I get that he didn't live up to our high hopes for him. But little discussed by our local media shills is the fact that he gave us 48 pressures and 6 sacks in 2025, which placed him as the top 13th and 11th interior defender, respectively, in those metrics. That was more than we got from Travon Walker last season.

Now I also get that other facets of his game were not the greatest. And sure, his $14.5 million salary could be put to many other good uses, like the owner's new apartment complex project. But on a team that already has serious pass rushing problems, how do we intend to replace his production if we shuttle him off?

I simply can't imagine that Row-row-row-your-boat and Regis are the plan. Row-row was simply God awful last year in Atlanta and Regis is an undersized plugger with subpar pass rushing skills who may never be more than a backup in this league. Now obviously the team sees something in these guys, but I can't imagine that either of them will be ready to fill Armstead's shoes in '26.

If they do trade or release Armstead without some better answer, Camponile may start questioning his life choices. Heck he may already be given how this offseason has gone so far for the D. 😆
