Context: Around 4 PM evening, I was waiting to turn right safely at the intersection when this lovely couple's car (with an L plate, mind you) behind me wanted to go left and started beeping at me constantly. There was a splitter island with a Keep Left sign, but I believe that the intersection still allowed right turns. Even the guy on the passenger seat got out but we didn't confront each other as I was able to turn right and got out of there (although I didn't even realise the guy was out before reviewing the cam.)
I never had an incident like this before and thinking about this makes my blood boil. I'm curious on what you guys think of this and what would you do in this situation?
EDIT1: It's on Malabar Street in Canley Vale (NSW) just before Sackville St, there's no sign for no Right-Turn or Left-Turn Only, so I assumed it's safe to turn right here. Also, on Google Map (if that is reliable), it says you can turn right here.
EDIT2: The situation was just frustrating, and I wanted to hear some second opinions. If I’m wrong then I'm wrong (and what happened is quite extreme for me to learn from my mistake) and I’ll take a different route next time. But then again, from what I could see, there wasn’t any clear sign or road marking saying it was right-turn only or that turning right was allowed, which is what made it confusing.
