Feeling like I’m briefly hydroplaning when driving over wet patches on the road.
Hello, new V8 Vantage driver here - 2025 model - had it about 1.5 weeks so far. <2000km on it, stock Michelin summer tires.
In my part of Canada, the snow is mostly melted which is leaving some areas wet, but the temp is about 8 Celsius, so definitely no ice.
I’m driving in Sport+ Mode, Automatic, ATC on, and two times now I’ve felt the car slightly “fishtail” and feel like I’m suddenly gliding as I pass over a wet road. Both times on a straight road, going about 70-80km/hr, but definitely accelerating.
When I felt that sensation I immediately took my foot off the gas and nothing bad happened thankfully.
What is this sensation? Is it normal, and if not, what am I doing wrong ? I’m now nervous to drive this car when it’s raining and all the roads are wet. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
