Hi there - new owner of Jeep Wrangler 4xe, 2023. Did not know about the recalls when we purchased and they were not disclosed. Anyway, we got an appointment 2 weeks ago to do the battery check. The day before they asked me if the battery would be charged when I brought it in. Of course it wouldn’t because the recall guidance says not to plug it in and keep it out of the garage. They said that they would charge but it wouldn’t take longer - fine, they were giving me a rental car. It was there about 5 hours when they called to say it had passed (68c) and it had also passed the Engine Failure Risk (78c). That was surprising because I wasn’t aware they had issued a fix. Anyway, as I was driving home I noticed that there was zero charge on the battery which seemed weird because they said it would need a full charge to run the software, and that’s why they would need it all day and potentially overnight. They did neither. Flash forward to two days ago, my husband finally got around to setting up the charger lines and charged it all night. The next morning there was zero charge. I called the dealer back and they told me to bring it in. I mentioned that I was now curious about how they were able to charge it for the software update - offering that it had zero charge when I picked it up. They said, well, we do drive it a bit to test it after we’re have checked it. Ok - but you drove it for 25 miles? I’m starting to wonder if they were even able to update and test it, or if they are just saying that to process them. Any insight?
