Hi, I’m barely even a novice player, but i’ve had this flute forever. Notice this tiny hole in the head joint. What is it? I think there used to be a small piece that would fit in the hole. When I was learning I would need to put a piece of tape over it because the embouchure needed while it was open was above my pay grade. When the hole is closed, it’s a C flute. With the hole open the flute plays in D but the first three notes are D B A#; harmonic minor…? Is this something you’ve seen? Is this just a random fabrication that the person I got it from did? I don’t know how to research this. Google just tells me about open hole flutes because all I can search for is “small hole in head joint”. Any help is much appreciated!
