Replaced valve now the others won't work

I replaced the front valve on my 36" and now the other three valves are not working at all.

Incidentally the front valve I replaced is working wonderfully.

Any advice on how to fix?

How can I get this thing off

Just bought a new bath valve that is screw in but I can't get it on because of this piece from the old valve still in the way. Any advice on the easiest way to get it off without accidentally ripping out the pipe.
