An accountant filed my 1700, but I haven't received a confirmation from BIR
Hello, pardon me if this isn't the correct subreddit to ask about this.
Context: My company required us (2025 new hires who had 2 employers last year) to file our 1700 on our own. It's my first time experiencing this, so to make sure I won't make mistakes, I took my coworker's offer to hire an accountant he knows who also did his 1700 a year prior.
We've been in contact since February, she filed my 1700 on March 9 using my email. I paid her fee. Unfortunately I didn't get a reply from BIR, so after two weeks, she decided that she'll try to use her email. I followed up about it and she mentioned it's her first time not receiving confirmation from BIR as well. She also mentioned that she'll try to visit a BIR office.
I've been following up again, twice now, and I've received no replies from her. I understand though that she might be busy, and Holy Week just passed. Honestly, I'm really easy to talk to, I just wanted to get any updates since it has been over a month since she submitted my 1700 and according to HR, we could face criminal violations for not doing so. Some of the employees from our work group chat were able to get BIR confirmation within 30 mins, some under 24 hrs, some are like me who haven't been able to receive anything back in weeks.
I just want to know, what else can I do? I asked for help since I didn't want to make mistakes, but our deadline for this is fast approaching. Is this really the norm? If she was successful on the 2 times she submitted my 1700 (minus the confirmation email from BIR), can BIR still file a case on me even if in her computations, I have zero balance?
