I’m interested in getting a real estate license in Wisconsin, mainly so I can write offers for myself, family, and friends. I’m not looking to join a brokerage full-time or switch careers to become an agent.

From what I’ve read, you still need to hang your license with a broker. Does anyone here have experience with brokerages that don’t charge a monthly fee, and instead just take a cut of the commission per transaction? Since I don’t expect to do many deals, I’d prefer to avoid paying ongoing monthly fees just to be affiliated with a firm.
