An actual helpful career guidance survey?

Has anyone found an actual helpful guide to figure out what you should be doing?

I’m 43, been in Mechancial equipment and tech sales my entire career. I hate it. I hate it so much. It absolutely has sucked any joy I have out of my life, and Saturday night I’m already dreaded Monday morning.

The problem is this is all I’ve done. I’ve always been in sales so I have no clue what else I could be good at or would even enjoy. I’ve always done what I thought I was “supposed” to do, and it’s gotten me here.

I’m sure I could go down a LLM slop fest and ask it questions but I just actually need help. At this point I don’t even know what makes me happy anymore.

I just need a super in depth questionnaire that I can answer truthfully to figure out what I’m passionate about. I’m so exhausted at the end of every day I can’t even think of what else to do.

I’d appreciate any kind of help right now. I’m just so lost and miserable.

What hustles are you working out that ISN’T using mostly AI?

I follow plenty of YouTube channels and newsletters like I’m sure most of you do as well, and the disturbing trend I see is everything is all about just getting AI to generate everything.

Build this website with AI, flip it.

Build an AI bot, sell it to a company.

Etc etc

What are you trying to start that uses little to no AI? Something that when all the AI companies inevitably turn into subscriptions models you won’t be stuck behind the eight ball?

I’ve personally been in hvac equipment and tech sales for 20 years and sick of it. Want to pivot to something else on the side that can maybe take the place of my job.
