✨ Best Foot Forward - My adventures in rep-shoe land with Cindy ✨
✨ Hello, shoe lovers!
Today, I am not working and I was tidying up my shoe wardrobe, so I thought: why not take some photos and show you some of my rep shoe collection?
Want to talk about rep shoes? Grab a chair ☺️
This isn’t a “standard” review: I am showcasing items purchased over several months and multiple orders, for me and my husband. I don’t have most of my PSP photos anymore as I wiped my phone when I got my new one (and lost my WA history!).
So take this as it is: a completely subjective account of 9 months spent in “higher tier” rep shoe-land with my favourite shoe seller, Cindy.
DISCLAIMER:
- This post is focused on shoes I purchased from Cindy - Cindy is not a TS on this sub, and I am not referring to her as a TS. She’s a seller I personally use and trust, but I am only one person on the internet. Do your own due diligence.
- I purchased shoes from other sellers as well, and you can see my reviews for those in various subs.
- Photos are all mine - the last two photos are from an older review, but I wanted to add them all to the post here.
TRANSPARENCY:
- I am not getting any incentives or discounts for this post. For full transparency, Cindy is aware that I post about my purchases on Reddit (I tell all my sellers about it)
A bit about me:
👢 As much as I love bags, shoes are my thing. I have been buying designer shoes since my foot stopped growing, thanks to my mother, who is obsessed with designer footwear. Cosmic joke, we don’t share a shoe size 😭
👠 I own over 120 pairs of shoes, from trainers to 6inch heels, and everything in between. I spent more on my wedding shoes than on my wedding dress. I don’t buy any clothes unless I can properly match them to shoes. I build my outfits accessories-first.
🇮🇹 Last but not least: I’m Italian, and we LOVE leather goods. We’re a nation obsessed with a good shoe.
🛍️ This just to say, to quote Carrie Bradshaw:
“Men, I may not know. But shoes… shoes, I know!”
And just like Carrie Bradshaw, I spent way too much money on designer shoes in my life. No regrets… until I discovered rep shoes.
Now the boutiques will never see me again.
I no longer see a reason to spend $1000 on a pair of shoes when I can get 90% of the way there by spending $150.
Buying rep shoes:
From the messages and comments I get, I can see that a lot of folks are intimidated about getting in the rep shoe game.
I totally get it! So much can go wrong when you can’t try the shoe on. The shoes can be too big, too small, too narrow, etc. It's a lot easier to deal with a bag that's not perfect. Shoes either fit, or they don't.
There's also horror stories of people wearing their rep shoes in the rain and the shoes “melting” like a cartoon witch. BTW let me reassure you on that… I live in a country with 260 days of rain a year. My shoes are fine.
⁉️ I can’t guarantee all rep shoes you buy will be a perfect fit, or good quality, but there are things you can do to reduce the likelihood of a problem:
- Don’t trust ANY sizing charts
- Trace the outline of your feet with a pencil on a piece of paper.
- Measure that with a ruler ( length and width)
- Do this for both feet
- Give the seller your actual foot size in CM
💶 A note on prices: don’t buy rep shoes on DHG for 20 dollars and expect them to be good quality. Set your expectations to go with the prices. You don't expect all rep bags to be created equal, so don't expect great shoes for cheap prices.
🎀 You also need a seller that will care about the shoe fit. I bought shoes with a few sellers ( you can see my other reviews around in different subs ) and I have no complaints, but the shoes I got from Cindy fit better than the others.
Why?
- When I was placing my first order, she asked me for a trace of my foot done with pen and paper, and to provide length and width measurements. That’s where I got that trick.
- After I received my first order, she asked me about the fit, to potentially adjust for future orders. Over my orders, she asked me to compare the fit of the different shoes I bought from her to figure out the best fit for the next pair. That’s service that I’ve only come to expect from her for shoes, and that’s why she’s my shoe queen 👑
Now to the part you’re all interested in: actual shoes, prices I paid, and mini-reviews!
Note:
- these are (some of) my shoes from Cindy, and my husband’s.
- Cindy’s prices include shipping, gift boxes, shopping bags, dust bags and certs. Prices in $.
M*u M*u biker boots: 160
Honestly the most comfortable pair of boots I have ever owned. And like I said, I owned and own a lot of boots 😛 The leather is outstanding. Buttery soft feel, slouchy look. They smell like a tannery in the best way. 10/10. I would walk into a MM store and have a SA handle these with no fear.
M*u M*u penny loafer: 150
How I love these. They are so chic and comfy. I actually compared them to auth in store and I couldn’t clock them. 10/10
GG men’s sneaker: 150
I own a few auth GG and I can’t fault these! Only note from my husband is that he wishes he had sized up to wear with a thick sock. We sized up for his second pair. 9/10
PS I also own rep GG for myself and I paid 135 - 150 may be for the bigger sizes
CL men’s sneaker: 175
These are really impressive. Nobody does CL like Cindy imho. Look at that sole ❤️ my husband finds them super comfy. 9.5/10
P*ada shearling sneaker: 150
Like a hug for your feet 🧸 they are so cozy and soft. It’s a pretty solid rep, I’d give it 8/10. There are a couple of minor callouts, but anybody looking at my feet that closely may need to pay 🤣
CL suede ankle boot: 175
My first rep CL from Cindy! I love them so much. They're solid. The red sole is a 98% match to auth, and they are comfy to walk in. The right boot buckle clicks a little but nothing serious. 8.5/10 (please note this price is from last year, I can't confirm it's still the right price)
GG sneakers: 135
Love love love them. Auth GG has lost my business forever. I wear these all the time and they are still perfect. 10/10
👸 Opinion on seller: it’s already clear from my post, but I love working with Cindy for my shoes.
She is clear with pricing and with quality, quick to address concerns, extremely focused on ensuring she gets the right fit for you.
She sends the best PSPs, including videos. I always ask her for more because I want to see all details, and she obliges and sends me so many videos 🤣 I literally have a 2 min video of somebody pulling a zipper up and down because I wanted to see it.
🎁 I also love getting a Cindy package: it’s a different experience because you get to unbox the shoe, and it feels like a gift 🤣
📬 Don’t ask me how she manages to get these boxes to me with no issues. It’s a kind of magic, and I don't question it.
With that said, her prices aren’t the lowest and you can definitely find good rep shoes for cheaper prices. For me, when I care about the shoe being as close to auth as possible, she’s my first and only stop. But I shop around, like I do for bags. I’m in a polyamorous relationship with all my sellers 🤣
Before I sign off, an important reminder: this is my own personal experience. You need to vet sellers on your own.
Well moderated subs like this give you access to vetted sellers. And if you’re new to this game, start with vetted sellers, do your own research, ask questions and pick sellers based on what is important to you.
💌 I hope this was informative and useful, and I’m happy to answer more questions on shoe reps!
I am getting to the point of my rep journey where I want to try and educate folks and share some of the tips I've learned. I have a long way to go for bags still, but hopefully I can help people dip their toe (get it?) into shoe reps.
