Hey, I recently moved and visited two new LGSs, and I am seriously disappointed with the community that goes there. I seriously wonder, is it really that hard to take care of basic hygiene, wash your hair, and use antiperspirant? Do people who spend astronomical amounts of money on cards really have a problem buying a t-shirt without holes in it, which often costs less than a single card in their deck?

Additionally, does afternoon gaming really have to be treated like a drinking binge? Do grown adults really have no other space to drink besides places like this? I am honestly sick of playing against drunk people, or people reeking of alcohol so badly that it makes my head spin.

On top of that, the appearance and standards of these LGSs leave a lot to be desired. Do half the chairs really need to be broken? I've also noticed it's the norm for these places to either have no windows or be located in basements.

My frustration is largely fueled by the fact that in this very same city, we have other LGSs that don't run Magic, just other card games, and they look infinitely better. Somehow they manage to buy new chairs and set up playmats on the tables. The walls are freshly painted, and the places have air conditioning.

What is the deal with this? Does Magic just not pay for itself?
