I really am conflicted here and hopefully somebody here owns the skywatcher and can help me out. The Orion would be new for $220 and the skywatcher is on Facebook for $175. My question is how often does the skywatcher require collimation? It is a gift for my father and I don’t want him to have to collimate too frequently because he definitely hasn’t researched telescopes and there’s no guarantee that he will look into anything . I told him I was getting a telescope and he said that he wants one as well so I’m buying him one for his birthday.
