Surprised me today when they told me that my chemo treatments have “amazing results”
After my sixth chemo treatment, they performed a PET scan to compare to my initial PET scan. The results are very impressive. I assumed that a stage 4 diagnosis meant the absolute worst and treatments were almost pointless. My scan showed the 10.5 cm primary mass under my stomach is now 1.3 cm. Most other small masses in my peritoneum are unseen now. My typically direct oncologist actually used “amazing” in his report. I’m still categorized as incurable and treatments will continue but I’m taking this win so I can spend some more time with my kids.
I know that everyone experiences a different cancer journey and I know this can change anytime. But let this suggest that we (I) need to stay positive and push through the bad days. Godspeed y’all.
