I recently bought the first volume of Case File Compendium, I'm about 200 pages in. Perhaps it's just my faulty reasoning and the knowledge that at some point He Yu and Xie Qingcheng might be together so I might read too much into it but...

All I see so far is just He Yu being quite obsessed with Xie Qingcheng, thinking of all the ways he wants the other to submit to him, the tension between them is great so far.
