Help with betta fish

Hi, fish keeping community, I cycled my tank for three weeks it has live plants got aeration and filter with heater. Naturally I decided to get fishes. I got few corydoras and few tetras along with celestial pearl danios. But the important point is that i got also one betta fish.
I read that these fishes are pretty compatible in a tank, and the seller who I bought all them from confirmed it too.
The betta which I got looked healthy.
First 3 days the betta was pretty passive, not really moving around and mostly hiding. It refused food the first two days, but yesterday he started eating.
Naturally I fed him today again. Shortly after that I cleaned up the aquarium floor of fallen leaves from plants and noticed that he started floating vertically, which he hasn’t done before.
I decided not to stress him more and just leave him be, but then he became like frozen. If before he would swim and at least take breaths from time to time, right now he became completely unmoving. After floating vertically for maybe half an hour, he sank down like a stone to the bottom of the aquarium completely and lied there as he was dead.
I thought that he was dead but apparently he was alive, so I put him in a net and he still lies uncannily still.
What should I do? I am really scared for him and want to improve his wellbeing
