I was using the apartments shared washer/dryer tonight. Two washers and two dryers on my floor(1st). I imagine each floor has the same amount out of a three floor building.

This place uses a system that has an app to control the washers/dryers. It also has a console in the laundry room to control each machine.

I always set my own timer on my phone just incase I miss the notification from the app that the washer/dryer is finished.

Tonight as my dryer timer went off, I checked the app it showed it still had over 70 mins left. The dryers automatically have a 60 min run time. I always check at 30 mins because the lent filter is full by then. I go, clean the filter, and let it resume.

So I can only think that someone had to have went in the room and added mins to the dryer. In the app you can type in the device number and it gives you an option to add mins, but I haven’t used that feature ever.

Did someone accidentally add over an hour of time to my machine? Was it a prank? When my timer went off and I checked the app it showed over 70 mins left. I’m new here and shouldn’t have any enemies.

My clothes were dry, I checked the app and there wasn’t any sign that I had accidentally put in more time, yet alone over an hour at that.

I decided to leave it at the particular time and close it, waiting for it to be started again. Can two people control a single machine from two separate apps?

The other dryer was in the “open lid” state but I didn’t open it because that’s weird. I wouldn’t mess with someone else’s laundry.

Someone is about to get a free 70 mins of drying. Again this is odd as the automatic time used is 60 mins.

Should I reach out to LL about this?
