Summon packs: shao or kitana?

I know the general advice is to go for gear (which I will do), however I want to also get character packs since I have a few hundred dk saved up and I also need to finish maxing a few of my mk11 characters who drop from the packs

To those who have played with a moderate-high fusion mk2 shao or kitana: which one is more worthwhile and what makes them so?

I have the gear for both of them (at low fusion though), so I’m curious which pack I should open in my pursuit of the finishing touches on my mk11 characters

Secret challenge mode nerf?

So I’m about 3/4ths done with all the challenges (on all difficulties, currently finishing the last 2 categories in elder difficulty on each challenge), and I’ve noticed the rewards post match are dramatically different

It used to be that in the later tiers, some matches would reward koins or souls, with souls being more rare, however they were there. In the early difficulties it was usually koins or a small amount of souls, and it picked up in later ones. I don’t mean the reward for beating all the matches in a category, I mean directly after 1 fight

However this past week even with this larger than usual sample size of 3 challenges, the amount of times I’ve received souls has been a grand total of 3 times.

And it was 5 souls. You used to get anywhere from 5 on the low end to 20-30 on the high end after some higher difficulty as well as lucky ones, and those souls would help subsidize the cost of restoring energy since each tier has 30 matches with each match sucking up 1/3rd of your energy, which even if cycling through multiple characters takes a long time or a lot of refreshes.

So my question is,
what is everyone else experiencing?
Is this something multiple people are noticing where the souls payout is reduced in frequency/volume?
Or is this that “luck” playing out negatively (as it somehow often seems to do)?

So I faced an insane tower tonight: made it through the first 4 floors with the 4th being a pain but made it, then did 2 attempts on the 5th and called it due to how absurd it was. wasted about a half hour of my time (imo they really need to fix or change the rewards to give a better reward or partial completion, unless you’re min/maxed and breezing through towers the time required is not worth the outcome, but I dunno if anyone else agrees to that and it’s a topic for a future thread)

The main question is, how is this team possible?

It says the opponent is level 1: don’t you need a certain level to participate in rk?

Is this some visual bug or did I encounter some weird exploit/workaround?

Obviously this last floor is absolute cancer due to it negating almost any positive effects (and of course the gear was stacked with negate/resist/resurrect gear on top of the characters/fastest haste kameo)

I can make it through a good handful of towers but only do the free attempts since you either get a weak tower someone hastily threw together, or an absolute monster of meta characters/gear that takes almost an hour to slog through just to be abandoned at the last floor

Curious if anyone can enlighten me on the level thing, or if anyone has feedback on if they think towers need some retuning/ changing of rewards
