- Total budget: max £3/400? but i'd rather cheaper if it meant slightly lower specs, around £200 being sweet spot
- Are you open to refurbs/used? Yes
- How would you prioritize form factor (ultrabook, 2-in-1, etc.), build quality, performance, and battery life? Peformance is the most important thing, with build quality and battery life not mattering too much to me. Though I would also like it not too heat up too much
- How important is weight and thinness to you? Not very, but I would prefer one that is easier to carry, and could sit on my knees comfortably
- Do you have a preferred screen size? N/A but not small
- Are you doing any CAD/video editing/photo editing/gaming? List which programs/games you desire to run. Blender, csp, firefox with a lot of tabs (my firefox EATS a surprising amoung of memory on my computer, currently at 5 gigabytes, for context if this sounds stupid haha)
- If you're gaming, do you have certain games you want to play? At what settings and FPS do you want? I'd like it to be able to handle games at an okay frame rate, but this really is not that important
- Any specific requirements such as good keyboard, reliable build quality, touch-screen, finger-print reader, optical drive or good input devices (keyboard/touchpad)? No touch screen, it being possible to change some parts and upgrade eventually
- Leave any finishing thoughts here that you may feel are necessary and beneficial to the discussion: Don't want any laptop built in with ai features, or windows 11 and would prefer if it would be possible to do a linux/windows dual boot, but isn't needed as I can stick with solely linux if such a thing isn't available in my price range. I am also having this laptop as a secondary computer for when I can't use my primary desktop
