Just bought a house, the yard had been left to its own devices. I don't want a lawn per se, but I also don't want to be swimming in tall grass when I'm out there.
How do I go about taming and cleaning this yard up? What tools do I need? Tips?
Thank you!

Edit to clarify and answer some questions:

- I don't plan to remove the stumps or cut any trees, those are features imo not problems

- The grass is the main problem, as my family enjoys fire time and tall grass like that could be an issue, so I was more looking for tips to deal with that. Also my toddler keeps tripping walking through it, either on the grass itself or stuff hidden beneath it. Also also, ticks like to live in tall grass like that ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

- all those trees are my property, I don't plan to expand the open area as I have plenty of that not pictured. This is just what is right outside the back door and the perfect place for an urban campsite

- I don't want to replace the wild grass with lawn grass, just want it to be not this long and unruly and I am not sure how to go about that as I have only tended established urban lawns and garden beds before

I have 4 rhubarb crowns that need to be broken apart this year (they're 4 years old and last year they were trying to bolt all summer long), but I'm not quite sure how to do that or when I should do that. They also need to be relocated to my new home and will probably need to stay in pots while I establish an area for them to go into the ground permanently.
I really don't want my rhubabies to die >< Any advice would be appreciated!
