To Screenwriters or any freelancer, how easy is it for you guys to get a position to do your jobs?

I'm new in this subreddit so please do forgive me if I get the post format wrong, or I literally went to the wrong one for a question like this.

So for context, I'm about to go to senior high school, and my parents want me to go to STEM instead of ASSH (the HUMSS equivalent here in the Philippines) because they want me to be an IT guy instead of, say, a psychologist, a psychiatrist, an artist, or, at my current wants, a screenwriter. This is because of the recent, and unfortunate rise of AI generation, where you only need a few prompts to generate something that could be considered "good paying" or whatever. I tried arguing that AI quality is shit compared to actual human made stuff, but they wouldn't listen, as they think that it's not even that high paying anyway.

My question is, at this current generation of AI taking and replacing humans, how easy or frequent is it for you to get hired?

Another question, is it a good idea to get a career as a freelancer? I've always wanted to get a job as a writer for anything, because being able to make an impact on multiple people is a great honour and dream of mine, and I'm worried that it's gonna crumble down due to slop making machines.
