Does the High Republic constitute its own little bubble in the canon or does it tie into the movies? The only canon material I read post movies were the Thrawn novels since they "sit in their own corner" and barely (if at all) tie into the rest of Star Wars (at least the Ascendancy Trilogy). Every time I try to consume canon material, I am reminded that it all leads to the sequels and I'm instantly turned off.
I'd like to give the High Republic a shot, but I don't want to make headway into it to then run into the "this leads to the sequels" feeling and lose motivation. So, does the High Republic lead into the sequels in any way? Can the High Republic be "squeezed" into the Expanded Universe/legends like most of the Ascendancy Trilogy?
