Odin 2/portal, RP5, and Thor were huge hits. Odin 3 has proven a much better value power wise, but nowhere near close the success of thor. G2 and RP6 didn’t get to the same level of sucess of odin 2 because at that price point the portal might be a better value.
-As Retroid always goes following the Ayn footsteps, I think they will definitely try to ride the DS sucess on a cheaper entry point.
-Ayn might give us a portal and thor version of the Elite chipset of Odin 3. As soon as the Steam Frames releases I think we will apreciate the extra power of the elite.
The thing is that I have no idea when. The 6 months update cycle seems a bit broken at the moment, as they keep selling out the thor even at those higher prices and discontinuing older models and higher specs models for lack of stock. That might lead to the stagnation of a market that has been pretty active the past few years and we might not see anything new in a while.
So… what would you personally want? For me it’d be a thor and portal with the Elite chipset to future-proof for steam on arm chips, and hopefully soon, as a mid gen update instead of waiting a full year for it but that seems highly unlikely.
