I have a 7 month old Labrador, he is crate trained and is really comfortable in his crate.

He is fed roughly at 5am, 12pm, and 6pm and then he goes outside for his final toilet at about 9-10pm.

When he wakes up in the morning, he won’t go back to sleep until he’s fed. I wouldn’t mind if he was waking up at 6:30/7am, but he wakes up at 5am and sometimes even 4:30am!

I’m not sure how to train him to wait for his food, as when he wakes up he cries and cries and sometimes will rip up his bedding. I live in a terraced house so i don’t love letting him cry for hours so early in the morning.

Also, when i give in and feed him when he wakes up, he will wake up earlier the next day! If I keep giving in, he’ll probably be waking up at 2am for breakfast🤣

I want him to learn that he can wake up at 5am for the toilet, but he can’t be eating yet… ideally I’d like to feed him at 7am. Any ideas?
